Trinity Mirror – A winner of the prestigious RoSPA President’s Award
Rob Frames, Health & Safety Manager at TMP Oldham, collecting the Award
We are very pleased to announce that Trinity Mirror is a winner at the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards 2017. The company achieved the President’s Award in the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). The President’s Award is given to companies who have achieved 10 to 14 consecutive Gold Awards.
The RoSPA President’s award (for 13 consecutive Golds) was presented to Rob Frames, SHE and Services Manager TMP Oldham, during a special ceremony at the Birmingham NEC Hilton Metropole Hotel on July 12th 2017.
Rob was invited to receive the award by Mike Shaw, Group Services Director, in recognition of the work that has been carried out at TMP Oldham in reducing accidents and implementing an effective health and safety management system.
Speaking after the presentation Steve Willis, Senior Health & Safety Manager Manufacturing, said: “This is a great achievement for Trinity Mirror and a just reward for all those throughout the group that work so hard to provide and maintain excellent standards of health and safety. Effective health and safety management is beneficial for all staff, their families and to the business. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone involved for making this award possible.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety, and held in high regard around the world, as winning one demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Achieving the standard required is no mean feat.
“This is a special year in the history of RoSPA, and we congratulate all of our winners in this, our centenary year.”
Trinity Mirror has, over the years, continued to show itself as a company that maintains a very high standard in occupational health and safety management at each of its sites, across manufacturing and publishing, and is one of the only newspaper publishing groups to receive the RoSPA President’s Award.
We congratulate everyone involved in this excellent achievement.
